Prescott Valley Charter School is an accredited K-9 charter school that will expand to serve grades K-12 in the coming years. Our purpose is to develop future citizens that defend the founding ideals of our country - through the pursuit of truth, justice, and virtue.
We are seeking full-time Special Education Paraprofessionals to accommodate our growing population. Candidates must hold an Associate degree, or demonstrate proficiency on a para educator exam, and hold a valid IVP fingerprint clearance card. Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Facilitates instruction that is provided in the special education or general education classrooms under the supervision of the special education teacher.
· Provides direct instruction in small groups or one-on-one under the guidance and directives of the special education teacher.
· May assist with basic lesson planning activities, copying, and organization.
· Will refrain from communicating directly with parents regarding student performance or needs.
· Assisting with reports and projects as assigned by the Special Education Director
· May assist with gathering data for IEP goals under the guidance and directive of special education teacher.
· May provide behavioral support in the classroom under the supervision of the special education teacher.
· May provide student restraints via CPI training and supervision of the special education teacher.
· May provide basic cleaning and organization of classroom to assist the special education teacher.
· May be transferred to a different classroom at any time under the directive of school administration.
· If in an EDP setting, the behaviorally based program that is adopted by PVS will be followed with fidelity by paraprofessional.
· May partake in school-based duties to support the educational environment at PVS as assigned by school administration.
Additional Notes / Requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience working with special needs children, preferred.
- Ability to enforce high standards of behavior, dress, and character in oneself and with students.

- Proficient with computers and software applications including Microsoft Office tools and Google Suite.
- Physical functions: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment. Reach with hands and arms and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Equipment used: Frequent computer use is expected.
- Work Environment: Typical office environment is expected, occasional exposure to outdoor weather.
