Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records and patient information to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Utilize ICD-10 coding systems to accurately code medical services
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for billing purposes. Including prior authorizations and pre-determination for Eye surgery.
- Post charges for surgery and clinic .Collect payments from patients
- Ensure PA's for specialty drugs.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any billing discrepancies or denials
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff members to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Insurance and patient payment posting
- Insurance Verification
-Conducts duties in a professional and timely manner
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of medical insurance plans
- Submits billing data to the appropriate insurance providers
- Resolves denials
- Achieves maximum reimbursement for services provided
Experience:
- Previous experience in medical billing or coding is required especially for surgery.
- Proficiency ICD-10 coding systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with insurance guidelines and reimbursement processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
