PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER I – INLAND EMPIRE DISTRICT / LAKE PERRIS SECTOR / LAKE PERRIS STATE RECREATION AREA
Post & Bid: This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.
The reporting location for this position is Lake Perris State Recreation Area in Perris, CA. This position will work under the supervision of Park Maintenance Chief I.
The incumbent’s work schedule will be Sunday to Thursday from 07:00 AM to 03:30 PM.
This is a very diverse assignment full of challenges including maintaining the day use areas, improving and repairing numerous facilities including trails, picnic sites, museum, and irrigation and other infrastructure. We are looking for a highly motivated and independent person to join our State Parks team. The incumbent will be responsible for all facility maintenance and housekeeping tasks throughout the Sector and may provide support to other park units throughout the District.
This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
This position is designated as not telework eligible.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Working Conditions
Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures (over 100 degrees in the summertime and near freezing in the winter months), dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Outdoor work is common. Typical work activities involve frequent and prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
