**Job Title:** Bookkeeper
**Job Summary:**
The Bookkeeper at MagTec Alaska, LLC, plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity of our operations. This position involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the financial operations of our oil & gas drilling support services and rental equipment business. The bookkeeper is responsible for a range of accounting and administrative tasks to ensure our financial records are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Financial Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Reconcile accounts to ensure their accuracy.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.
- Handle accounts receivable, including invoicing customers and tracking payments.
- Follow up on overdue invoices and manage collection efforts.
3. Bank Reconciliation
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the company’s financial records match bank statements.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
5. Financial Reporting
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Provide financial summaries and reports to the Office Manager as required.
6. Compliance and Auditing
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
- Assist with audits, both internal and external, by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and legislation affecting the company.
7. Inventory Management
- Monitor and record inventory transactions.
- Reconcile inventory accounts and assist in physical inventory counts as needed.
8. Administrative Duties
- Maintain organized and secure filing systems for financial documentation.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to finance, such as processing employee expense reports and maintaining vendor files.
- Support other departments with financial information and guidance as needed.
- Utilize accounting software and tools effectively for financial management.
9. Communication & Collaboration
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding financial matters.
**Experience:**
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or related accounting experience
- Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
