A medium size company located in Los Angeles is seeking a reliable, focused, team-player and trustworthy Accounting Manager that will lead the accounting department.
The Accounting Manager will manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and external audits. This person will manage the accounting department, monthly closing of accounts and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements.
The Accounting Manager will report to and work closely with the Controller and others in the organization in analysis and reconciliation of accounts and in development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and controls.
The ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, strong communication skills, solid operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, detailed-oriented, has a high level of integrity and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment. The candidate should have the expertise in financial statements preparation and review of a multi-entities.
Essential Job Duties include but are not limited to:
· Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly and completely recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
· Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
· Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
· Participate in strategic financial projects including upgrades implementation of accounting software in the future.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
- Analyze financial transactions and bring to the attention of the Controller any material differences for proper handling.
- Review year-end financial package of 44 entities and ensure that all reconciling and supporting schedules are correct and complete.
- Assist the Controller in budget preparation.
- Ensure that all mandatory taxes and licenses are filed and paid timely.
- Direct the external accounting, financial reporting and auditing including.
- Ensure timely preparation of Medicare and Medi-Cal cost reports and oversee the audit.
- Manage the audits such as personal property tax returns (Form 571-L) and city business taxes.
- Assist Controller and CFO in preparation of any internal management reports and other ad hoc reports.
Successful Candidates Must Have:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
· Preferably a CPA
· At least 5 years’ experience in accounting with companies whose revenues exceeds $50 million.
· Ability to supervise accounting staff including prior supervision of at least 3 direct reports.
· The ability to research, understand and apply government accounting regulations.
· Analytical thinker with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
· Strong time management skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
· Communicate effectively in writing, orally, and with others to assimilate, understand, and convey information, in a manner consistent with job functions.
· Ability to collaborate and work well with others.
· Strong research and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
· Enthusiastic attitude, honest and with great integrity and credibility.
· A team player

· Healthcare industry.
· Property Management and related accounting.
· Organizations with accounting operations for multiple entities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
