II. ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates leadership in the area of safety. This requires observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behavior which may lead to accidents.
Continually endorse the Quality & Food Safety Policies, assure conformance to all requirements of the Quality & Food Safety Management Systems, & take action to properly report failures of these systems to site management.
III. GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for ensuring equipment is available and online to meet production goals
Troubleshoot and make repairs to existing plant equipment, install new equipment, and building maintenance as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Maintain a positive attitude amidst unplanned events and a willingness to be flexible with work volume and type.
Willingness to contribute to the greater plant as a liaison to safety, quality, engineering, or production programs.
IV. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Functions:
Provide support to plant operations and other teams on their assigned shift to ensure equipment is available as needed for production
Execute urgent work orders and special projects.
Work with various hand tools, power tools, welders and cutting equipment to repair plant equipment
Perform sanitary and non-sanitary welding and pipe fitting, per skill level
Repair, assembly and installation of sanitary and utility service valves
Where applicable, assist in repair refrigeration and air conditioning equipment; work with ammonia and freon with proper licensed Technicians. Perform daily PMs as assigned
Perform rotating equipment PMs and repairs and checks by scheduled due date, including replacement of mechanical seals, impellers, and bearings
Check and monitor cooling tower chemical/oil levels, pumps and systems.
Ability to proficiently use Kerry Systems; to include SAP, CMMS and MySuccess
Operate forklift and aerial lifts
Help as required in the parts storeroom
Contribute to plant-wide programs in safety, quality, engineering, or production
May periodically be asked to serve as “on call” outside of standard scheduled hours to support critical work. During on call times, must be available via phone and to come on site as needed
