Role: Special Education Teacher
Location: Lawrence, MA, 01841
Position: Full Time + Benefits (Long Term Contract at School) SY-2024-2025
Responsibilities:
- Delivering the instructional program as outlined in a student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Carrying out all planning, supervision, and assessment of students in accord with the states' regulations and the school's mission, policies and practices.
- Providing the instructional program for students to reflect the goals of students' IEPs.
- Ensuring sufficient instructional time, consistent discipline practices, and integration with the support and enrichment curriculum instruction.
- Participating in the monthly RTI (Response to Intervention) meetings for assigned grade levels.
- Meeting weekly with grade-level classroom teachers to plan modifications of curriculum.
- Completing all required documentation as required by law or by school administration.
- Supervising a paraprofessional, if assigned, by assigning relevant tasks and instructional responsibilities commensurate with experience and ability.
- Assisting with standardized test administration or accommodations as requested by Head of School.
- Communicating with parents to ensure a cooperative family partnership in accord with the school's mission and to increase student achievement.
- Supporting the two-way language goals of the school.
- Participating in and adopting school-based professional learning, innovations, and technology advances.
- Participating in Special Education trainings as requested by the Director of Special Education.
- Investing in personal and professional development through on-going training in accord with an approved professional development plan.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education or appropriate content subject area.
- 3 years' experience preferred.
- Massachusetts Special Education License.
- SEI endorsed or become SEI endorsed by the end of the first year.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55.08 - $60.61 per hour
