You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient delivery of clinical services and high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care Coordination:
- Coordinate patient flow throughout the clinic, ensuring adherence to protocols and timely appointments.
- Assist with patient intake and collect demographic and insurance information.
- Schedule appointments, manage the waitlist, and communicate effectively with patients regarding scheduling changes.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by collecting vital signs and medical history (as permitted by your role and state regulations).
- Coordinate communication between patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
- Process patient referrals, pre-authorization requests, and insurance claims (as applicable).
- Clinical Support:
- Maintain and update patient medical records electronically or in paper form, ensuring confidentiality.
- Assist healthcare providers with administrative tasks and documentation.
- Prepare clinical documents and reports as directed by the Clinical Lead or Physician.
- Manage and maintain clinical supplies and equipment inventory.
- Quality Improvement:
- Assist with quality assurance initiatives and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
- Analyze clinical data to identify areas for improvement and implement process changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical setting or healthcare administration.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and abbreviations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems (a plus).
- Familiarity with relevant clinical procedures and best practices (a plus).
