GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Supervises, trains, and evaluates the management team and ensures that quality services are being provided. Also participates in quality improvement efforts. Reports to the Program Directors.
HOURS OF WORK:Full-time, 40 hours per week and carries a rotating supervisor cell phone for emergencies, including weekends. Must be flexible. This is an exempt position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:SUPERVISION/SUPPORT OF MANAGEMENT STAFF
- - Supervise, train, evaluate and provide support to Program Managers of CLA, CRS and IHS programs in all areas including but not limited to: licensing regulations, applicable state and federal regulations and agency policies and procedures. This includes household maintenance and repair.
- - Develop a working schedule to ensure all programs receive adequate attention while maintaining excellent communication with the Director team
- - Reports to the Program Directors any outstanding quality assurance issues
- - Attends staff meetings to support managers as needed
- - Ensures all program documentation, data collection, and required reports are completed and on file and DSPs are properly trained
- - Completes Managers performance evaluations with the input of the PJW RN, Director team and other department heads.
- - Conduct regular physical plant inspections of all programs and ensures maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely manner
- - Attends safety committee meeting in a supervisory role
- - Conducts management consults and disciplines as needed
- - Review and support managers with completing and conducting DSP performance evaluations and disciplinary actions
- - Be knowledgeable and comply with all agency policies and procedures
- - Conducts training for Program Managers as needed, individually or in groups
- - Provides management supervision when there are vacancies at a CLA or CRS which includes being on call
- - Directly trains new managers in the operation of the program
- - Review payroll and approve reconciliations
- - Ensures that all programs are operating in accordance with all DDS regulations
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
- Conducts financials audits for individuals in the home setting
- Ensures that house credit cards are used only for allowable expenses
- Conduct random financial audits to assist managers who may need more training
- Ensures managers stay within allotted house hours and all OT is approved
- Assists managers to work with the Benefit Coordinator on any issues that relate to individuals’ finances and entitlements
PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE
- Conducts PMT and CPR training as needed
- Conducts Abuse Neglect Investigations as needed
- Implement the agency mission statement
- Be knowledgeable of all state or federal regulations that the agency must be in compliance with
- Suggest appropriate revisions or new policies and procedures as necessary
- Work with others including DDS professional staff, other agency professional staff, medical personnel, etc. in a professional manner
- Maintain good working relationship with DDS Licensing staff
- Work with the Director team on any new program development
- Conduct agency training as needed
- Attends Board Meetings as requested or needed

OTHER DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Maintain medication administration certification
- Attend meetings and trainings as necessary (may include overnight travel)
- Participate in agency fundraising and other community events
- Attends board meetings as required
- Valid CT Drivers License and insurability with agency’s insurance carrier
- Any other duties as requested by the director team
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, three years’ experience in working with people with intellectual and or developmental disabilities in a residential setting
