Job Summary:
The Senior Manager for Family and Community Engagement plays a vital role in fostering strong relationships between Homewood Children’s Village and the families and community it serves. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing programs and initiatives that support family engagement and community involvement. The Senior Manager will work closely with the Senior Director of Programs to ensure that all activities align with the organization's mission and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Design and implement comprehensive family and community engagement programs that support the organization's objectives.
- Community Outreach: Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, organizations, and stakeholders to foster a supportive and engaged community network.
- Family Support: Develop and coordinate resources and services that empower families and enhance their capacity to support their children's education and well-being.
- Event Coordination: Plan and execute community events, workshops, and activities that promote family engagement and community participation, including regular Family Nights.
- Family Nights: Organize and lead Family Nights, creating opportunities for families to connect, learn, and participate in enriching activities together.
- Collaboration: Work with other departments to ensure integrated and cohesive program delivery. Partner with schools, local organizations, and community leaders to enhance program effectiveness.
- Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and interests of families within the community, ensuring their voices are heard in program planning and policy development.
- Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of family and community engagement initiatives. Use data and feedback to continuously improve program offerings.
- Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of community engagement and family support staff. Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and impact to the Senior Director of Programs and other stakeholders.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, community development, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in community engagement, family support, or a related area, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills with experience supervising staff and volunteers.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Program Management: Proven ability to design, implement, and evaluate community-based programs and initiatives.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Cultural Competency: Deep understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite. Familiarity with data management systems is a plus.
Work Environment:
This position requires flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend hours to accommodate community events and activities. The Senior Manager for Family and Community Engagement must be able to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, adapting to changing needs and priorities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
