POST DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP POSITION
AT MCLEAN HOSPITAL, HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL
McLean Hospital, America’s top ranked freestanding psychiatric hospital, is inviting applications for a full time Post Doctoral Research Fellowship position on our main campus in Belmont, MA.
This exciting role will be within the Neurobiology of Fear Laboratory at McLean Hospital, which investigates the molecular, genetic, epigenetic, and neural circuit mechanisms underlying processes of fear, stress, and substance abuse through an integration of animal models and human genetic research. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to and develop research expertise through the pursuit of defined research projects relevant to neural circuit mechanisms underlying stress-induced escalation in alcohol drinking and seeking behaviors. Candidate will offer training and mentorship to junior lab members.
Salary and recruitment package in accordance with Hospital policies, and a Harvard Medical School (HMS) appointment at the academic rank of Research Fellow will be contingent on meeting the requirements for an HMS appointment and candidate qualifications.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, Pharmacology, or a related field (or equivalent).
- Evidence of strong scientific productivity, including peer-reviewed publications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Team player, willing to help and collaborate on other projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with rodent-based research using behavioral assays.
- Experience with stereotaxic surgeries and neural circuit manipulation tools.
- Experience and familiar with scientific and statistical software for data acquisition and analysis (e.g. MATLAB, Python, SPSS).
