SCHEDULE:
8 - hours per day/ 220 Days per Year
RATE OF PAY:
$16.44 - $17.05 per hour (DOE)

FUNCTION: Perform a variety of office duty tasks such as answering the phone, scheduling appointments, photocopying, filing, opening and distributing mail, coordinating with non-school staff at various facilities, registration of students, and other duties necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the school. Establish and maintain a positive and effective working relationship with all school staff and the public.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs reception duties with the public and staff;
Answers telephones, responds to inquiries or routes calls to the appropriate person;
Liaison between principal, teachers, parents, students, custodial staff, support staff, and community;
Coordinate pre-registration events, including all communications, calendars, and planning necessary to complete the process;
Assist in school schedule/registration preparation and data entry;
Coordinate opening school activities and information;
Purchasing – Obtain purchase information and comparisons, completion of purchase order and expedite payment through proper bookkeeping practices;
Produce appropriate financial reports throughout the year, and year-end audit report;
Schedule meetings (parent, staff, etc.) for administration as requested;
Handle student technology insurance purchases/claims/questions;
Support building principal in assistance with administrative functions;
Make decisions independently in accordance with established policy;
Responsible for student attendance, new student registrations, registration cards, student transfers, state reports, and all student records;
Maintain and update all student immunization records and student health records;
Assist certified and classified staff;
Assist with student supervision in the office and throughout the school;
Maintain inventories and orders for school supplies;
Maintain accurate accounting of school funds, district funds, and/or federal funds including banking, writing checks and creating requisitions and purchase orders ensuring compliance with financial, legal, and/or administrative requirements;
Coordinate a variety of programs and activities as assigned (e.g. substitute teachers, meetings, in-service day activities, workshops, ceremonies, field trips, etc.);
Administer approved medications and first aid to sick and/or injured children;
Assist and/or orient volunteers and new site personnel regarding school and district practices;
Keep student information confidential;
Possess and exhibit an upbeat positive attitude;
Develop positive working relationships with students, staff, families, and visitors;
Operates office machines;
Orders/maintains adequate supplies for the operation of the office;
Input student information;
Work with other office staff to cover breaks/lunches;
Other duties may be assigned as needs of the school determine.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each duty.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Three years of clerical experience or a combination of experience and training preferred.
