Responsibilities: Real Estate, Civil Litigation and Corporate Law
- Provide administrative support to attorney
- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as pleadings, contracts, and agreements
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Organize and maintain legal hard and electronic files and documents
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings
- Assist with case management and document management systems
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate person
- Transcribe dictations and prepare correspondence
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal and requires minimal supervision.
- Must have knowledge on how to begin and complete a case without being told the next steps.
- Must be proactive and manage a calendar.
- Proficient in data entry, transcription, and document management software
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with Abacus billing is a plus.
Skills:
- Data entry: Accurately enter information into databases or spreadsheets
- Interviewing: Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses to gather relevant information for cases
- Legal administrative: Assist attorneys with administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and document preparation
- Organizational: Maintain organized files, calendars, and schedules for multiple attorneys or cases
- Litigate: Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing witness lists
- Administrative: Perform general administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing calendars, and coordinating meetings
- Research: Conduct legal research using online databases or other resources to support case preparation
- Phone etiquette: Demonstrate professional phone etiquette when answering calls or speaking with clients or colleagues
- Law: Have a basic understanding of legal principles, procedures, and terminology
- Transcribe: Listen to recorded dictations or conversations and accurately transcribe them into written documents
This position is required to be in person and located in the Galleria area. Must have reliable transportation.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
