Summary
Reports directly to the Director of Food Safety. The Food Safety Technician II is responsible for helping maintain the quality and food safety of the product. The Food Safety Technician II follows through on set processes and pre-requisite programs, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices as well as food safety and product quality standards. The Food Safety Technician II will also be responsible for helping establish new policies as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for assisting in customer complaint resolution and communication.
- Responsible for assisting in maintaining and performing audits of pre-requisite programs.
- Assist in maintaining correct recording and filing of all relevant logs and documentation.
- Ensures employees are following all Food Safety and worker safety practices.
- Assists in educating employees on food safety policies, programs and procedures.
- Assist in the compliance with 2nd & 3rd party audits such as: customer audits, BRC, etc.
- Assist in monitoring/conducting environmental analyses (i.e., PEM swabbing), and product sample collection for the laboratory.
- Assists in monitoring verification of critical control points (CCP), product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Assist in overseeing TAC's Quality Program in accordance with customer and company requirements. This includes:
o Review and develop Food Safety/QA programs
o Regular review of production and receiving records
- Participate in WIP & finished goods hold/release system.
- Ability to work long hours, especially during peak production period.
- Report to Manager any unusual circumstances and discuss options/recommends course of action to be taken.

- Physical presence at the facility is required. Employee cannot work remotely.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and regulations as required by the company and the appropriate government authorities, such as CalOSHA.
Qualifications
- Possess good written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, etc.
- Possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, certificates of analysis, product specifications or governmental regulations.
- Possess the ability to read and interpret basic written instructions and perform tasks and projects derived from written instructions.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English), high school diploma or GED, and experience in manufacturing/food environments is preferred but not required.
- Maintain a good attendance record.
