Tax Associate - CPA

Objective: The primary responsibilities of a Staff Accountant are to perform general accounting and other related accounting duties, in support of clients and the overall business strategy of the firm.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
1. Using CCH Axcess software prepare and file individual and business tax returns, payments, necessary paperwork, and reports
2. Assess and research client tax issues to identify solutions
3. Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend strategies to improve financial results for our clients
4. In QuickBooks, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts and close monthly books (for clients we assist with these functions). As necessary, provide QuickBooks support to clients
5. Offer client support and guidance during tax audits
6. Monitor industry trends and changes related to taxes
7. Prepare accurate quarterly and annual tax reports
8. Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
9. Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Math, or Information Technology
2+ years CCH Axcess experience
2+ years experience in a CPA firm or similar work environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
Ability to correctly prepare tax reports
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, QuickBooks, and accounting software
General Requirements:
Prolonged periods working on a computer.
Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week during peak seasons.
Position Reports To: Managing Partner
Pay Range: $70k - $90k Annual
