Responsibilities:

Extensive phone usage with a positive attitude and smile.

Presents in a professional manner in the community, in person, on telephone and in written communication including times of extreme stress and when others are upset.

The peer specialist supports all the efforts of the therapist and case manager and must be willing to travel throughout Broward county and have reliable transportation.

Work effectively with culturally diverse groups and individuals experiencing an exacerbation of either psychiatric, substance use and/or medical symptoms, as well as experiencing a stressful situation.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and a busy office environment independently
Qualifications:
- Graduation with a high School diploma or equivalent GED. Must have lived experience with mental health.

If hired, Applicants must train and get a peer support specialist certificate ( 2 day training ) and a TIP training which is a 3 day training.

Strong organizational/Time Management skills.

Computer literate and proficiency to Internet, online applications and email.

Bilingual a plus.
