SUMMARY
Responsible for movement of all materials using various forklifts including incoming raw materials and outgoing finished products to facilitate the production and warehouse functions and following established procedures to maintain accurate documentation for all materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs tasks as instructed and works shifts as assigned by supervision.
- Operates material handling equipment as required to move incoming raw materials and finished products to ensure efficient operation of the production process and the warehouse.
- Responsible for receiving and processing paperwork for incoming materials and placing in proper storage area.
- Performs stacking and palletizing tasks to prepare finished goods for shipment and storage
- Responsible for processing outgoing orders for finished products to include locating product, moving product to loading area, loading on trailer and completing all documentation.
- Responsible for communication with other departments to ensure efficient operation of the production process.
- Responsible for following established storage procedures for raw materials and finished products
- Maintains all records related to incoming materials and shipment of finished products to ensure inventory accuracy to include location and counts.
- Performs cycle counts, as required, to maintain accurate inventory
- Assists and trains employees as needed
- Responsible for attending and participating in assigned training sessions related to GMPs, SOPs, HACCP and SQF; applying and demonstrating obtained knowledge and following all procedures and policies related to food safety.
- Responsible for keeping work area safe and clean.
- Adheres to all safety guidelines for job performed
- Performs related duties as assigned by supervision
- Responsible for meeting all quality, sanitation and production standards
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Occasionally required to lift and pull up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally required to carry items up to 50 pounds
- Required to work while standing for periods up to 2 hours.
- Required to work in plant environment
- Perform medium to heavy duty work tasks
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to operate powered industrial trucks, various forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification for OSHA requirements.
- Ability to use Excel, Word and Outlook proficiently
- Ability to read and understand documents related to receipt and shipment of materials and finished products
- Ability to communicate, write legibly, and speak in English
- Ability to perform each essential function satisfactory.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
- PPE may be required based on tasks being performed and location within the facility
- Protective clothing, hair net, and gloves are required.
