JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for implementing, outreach, advocacy, social media, volunteerism, and public relations activities that align with grant requirements, agency's strategic plan, and other planning documents. The Community Outreach Coordinator will be instrumental in implementing and planning social media campaigns, graphic design, video editing, press release, grant reports, data research, event planning, attending outreach events, phone, and text banking, canvassing in Kings County, building community awareness, communicating the needs of low-income individuals and families, and furthering the agency's standing in the community. This position is also responsible for assisting with onboarding volunteers, coordinating public recognition events and activities for donors, and managing the agency's social media platforms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in the development of organizational marketing efforts.
- Write and submit press releases.

Review and edit external publications.

Represent KCAO at public functions and meetings when authorized.

Phone and text banking about public awareness campaigns.

Canvass neighborhoods in Kings County about public awareness campaigns.

Assist with management of all KCAO social media platforms, including posting messages, responding to messages from the community, and coordinating an agency-wide strategy for programs to utilize social media.

Manage social media campaigns to inform stakeholders about the socioeconomic conditions of Kings County.

Assist with coordination of check presentations and public acknowledgment of donations, and volunteers.

Maintain agency-wide branding of KCAO image.

Assist with maintaining the KCAO English and Spanish websites with current and relevant information and images.

Assist with the volunteer program, including onboarding and maintaining volunteer records.
- Support the implementation of the goals and strategies outlined in the KCAO Outreach Plan. Work with the Executive Director and Community Development Manager to update the KCAO Outreach Plan and track outcomes.
- Conduct community presentations about KCAO.

Assist with preparing advocacy briefings for the Community Development Manager to help communicate with stakeholders about the socioeconomic conditions of Kings County.
- Assist Executive Director and Community Development Manager as required/requested.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, seminars, other meetings as directed.

Perform all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma with 5 years of experience in graphic design, video editing, volunteer management, public relations, or outreach and marketing.
OR
-
Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Organization Development, Human Development, Public Administration, Marketing, Communication, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education; AND
-
Three years of work experience in graphic design, video editing, volunteer management, public relations, or outreach and marketing.
OR

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Organization Development, Human Development, Public Administration, Marketing, Communication, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education; AND
-
One-year of work experience in graphic design, video editing, volunteer management, public relations, or outreach and marketing.

Travel and attend out of area meetings and conferences as required per the funding source(s).

Work variable hours and days, including those outside regular Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. business hours including weekend.

Meet and maintain KCAO hiring requirements which include:

Criminal Record Clearance including California DOJ, FBI and Child Abuse Centralized Index (CACI).

Reliable, insured transportation and valid California Driver License.
-
Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) acceptable to KCAO's vehicle insurer.

Health examination with tuberculin clearance.

Ability to be contacted outside of regularly scheduled work hours in case of emergency.
