The IT (IT) Support Manager manages the organization’s software needs, including carrying out installation of necessary software, as well as the safe protection of the IT base of the company by installing necessary protection tools, such as the Anti-virus software and other software needs. The IT Support Manager will cultivate a digital environment that allows all members of Life Male STEAM Academy to work together safely, easily, and efficiently, by maintaining robust network communication systems. The primary function of all staff is to develop an atmosphere where students’ cultural backgrounds are seen as assets and their potential is uncovered daily. The information technology support manager is responsible for the management and control of an organization’s IT assets and maintains the list of assigned equipment.
Qualifications:
- Experience in heading IT section of an organization; Degree in IT and System Technology field or its equivalent preferred

Ability to identify and resolve issues regarding IT in a manner that is timely

Proficiency in Internet Languages, i.e., PHP, Linux, Apache, MySQL, and others

Working knowledge of various operating systems (Windows, Chrome OS, Linux)

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintain existing communications network including management of Firewalls, VPNs, Switches and APs
- Develop and deploy communications network for additional sites
-
Manage physical and virtual server systems
-
Manage secondary communication systems (Telecom, Printing, PA Speakers)
-
Deploy and manage end user computer and software systems
-
Manage existing classroom technology and collaborate in future EdTech planning
-
Manage end user accounts, permissions, and access rights across multiple software platforms
-
Ensure a safe environment for students by maintaining an adaptive content filter, providing digital monitoring solutions for teachers, restricting device access as needed
-
Ensure compliance with FERPA, CIPA, HIPAA

Coordinate and/or provide training to school staff in hardware and software use
-
Provide support for all technology issues, by maintaining a well-organized ticketing system, managing additional support staff, coordinating with other departments, and consulting third party support

Maintain inventory of software, hardware, and related peripherals
-
Manage repairs and replacement of student computers
-
Maintain building access management systems
-
Coordinate with outside vendors for installation and configuration of equipment related to Enterprise communication systems such as the phone system, ISP, security system, and network services and manage software and all systems; sometimes perform the integration of the systems
The manager’s role is to ensure that all necessary mechanisms and inventories are in place for the smooth running of the organization’s system
The maintenance and installation of network lines and phones, routers, modems, and other equipment
- Contribute to the development, evolution, and implementation of ECS technology strategy
