Parkway Electric is an industry leader and long-standing employer in West Michigan providing full range electrical contracting, controls and communications service. Parkway Electric has been supplying Holland, the surrounding community’s complete electrical needs since 1945. In 2010 we extended our services to Colorado for a good customer and have continue our operations there. In 2019 we purchased a location in Waterford, Michigan.
Summary/Objective
This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the payroll function, including payroll processing, reconciliation, tax compliance and benefits administration. This position requires excellent organization skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, time management and a customer service-oriented approach to our employee's payroll-related inquiries.
Essential Functions
1) Payroll Processing
a) Accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees
b) Process new hires, terminations, salary changes and timekeeping information
c) Process garnishment orders and other payroll deductions in compliance with court orders and applicable laws
d) Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files in compliance with record retention policies
e) Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
f) Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, including deductions and tax withholding
g) Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and accounting staff
2) Tax Compliance
a) Ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations
b) File and pay monthly, quarterly and annual payroll and unemployment taxes
c) Create and mail out W2’s & 1095’s at year end
3) Employee Benefits Administration
a) Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans
b) Manage employee enrollment and deductions in benefits programs
c) Communicate open enrollment information to employees
4) Employee Safety
a) Prepare and submit worker’s compensation claims and accident reports
b) Track and report on OSHA recordable incidents, including maintaining OSHA 300 logs
c) Work directly with Safety & Human Resources Manager

This is a full-time position. Will routinely work 40 or more hours per week.

1. 1-3 year’s related experience or training depending upon education
2. Associates degree in accounting or higher
