What Are We Looking For? An experienced School Route , who will work most often with a set route in a defined area within NE. Current valid Driver's License, DOT card (or ability to obtain one) and a good driving record is a must. No special license is required, and paid training would be offered to a qualified and motivated candidate, who has the desire to learn and wants to have fun at work!
Job Summary/Objective:
E&R Campus Laundry provides pick-up and delivery service for higher education entities such as preparatory schools, colleges and universities. The School Route Representative, will drive a delivery route and will interact with customers. The professional in this role will load and unload the delivery truck with the customer’s product in a timely manner and will ensure that all items are correctly tracked. Routes are preassigned weekly and offer you a chance to really get to know your schools and customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interacts with external school-specific customers, as well as employees from E&R Laundry and Dry Cleaners store locations, as directed by the Service Manager.
- Acts as customer advocate.
- Promote sales or new product wherever possible.
- Communicates and coordinates with internal departments as needed.
- Drives for extended periods of time, picking up and delivering product to customers.
- Tracks customer product, through the use of well-established and communicated procedures.
- Ensures that the delivery vehicle is in good operating condition and reports service needs to a supervisor.
- Assists in general warehouse duties when delivery route is completed.
- No nights or weekends are part of our normal schedule.
- WE HAVE FUN! We are a team of qualified route drivers and always help each other out.
· Safety and Health: In varying degrees, depending upon the specific details of possible contagion exposure, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) is mandatory for the following: During flu season; when handling contaminated laundry; when the company responds to authoritative guidance regarding pandemic conditions such as covid-19 or when interacting with any person or situation that poses the possibility of contagion exposure. **P.P.E. includes, but is not limited to: Healthcare approved masks, gloves, gowns, shoe covers, shields and hand sanitizer. *Note: Cloth masks are not P.P.E., but are worn for the protection of others, helping to contain droplet saliva or bodily fluids, which may contain infection and cause harm. Cloth masks are acceptable in place of healthcare approved masks, during periods of known respiratory contagion, such as Influenza or Covid-19.
· *Follow all protocol established for the use of P.P.E., as well as other safety protocol as per E&R Laundry and Dry Cleaners Safety and Health Policies.
· *While on E&R Laundry and Dry Cleaner’s grounds, participation in all emergency evacuation drills and/or emergency circumstances, is required and which may include the use of strobe lighting and loud sirens.

Working Behaviors: Adhere to and carry out all policies and procedures of E&R Laundry and Cleaners. Report any on-the-job injuries to the Department Manager and to Human Resources, prior to the end of the work shift. Maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary information belonging to E&R Laundry and Cleaners. Promote teamwork.
Abilities, Knowledge and/or Experience:
- Ability to safely drive a delivery truck and perform manual labor in all types of weather.
- Ability to use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
- Ability to plan and follow delivery routes.
- Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Knowledge and experience in customer service, with the ability to remain professional and courteous at all times.
- Reading and writing English is essential for this position.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.
- Positive attitude and flexible nature is required.
- Ability to prioritize, organize work and manage time.
- Keen sense of urgency and attention to details.
- Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen, as applicable.
- Capable of working in a warehouse environment where temperatures fluctuate and will often be elevated, due to the processing of laundry and cleaning.
Education/ Licenses and Requirements:
- A current and valid NH Driver’s license.
- A current DOT Card or ability to obtain one
- As applicable, must be able to successfully pass a background check.
- Clean driving record
Physical requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the requisite background required to adequately perform the functions of this position. Standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling and repetitive action are frequently required activities of this position. Sitting for extended periods of time. Good or corrected eyesight is required. Fine Motor skills are necessary. Must be able to verbally communicate using the English language. Must be able to hear and use the telephone. Must be able to read and write in the English Language. Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting and maneuvering heavy objects up to 50 lbs. (unassisted) on a frequent basis. While working in the plant, or in customer locations, must be able to work in high or fluctuating temperatures while wearing masks, or other P.P.E.
Environment: Representative, but not limited to:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be driving for extended periods of time, during all types of weather and will be lifting heavy objects, sometimes during extreme hot, cold, wet or slippery conditions. While moving through plant production areas, the employee will be in a well-lit environment and will be exposed to high noise levels, elevated temperatures, dust, fumes or smells and moving mechanical equipment. While working in the plant production area, should a scheduled, or unscheduled fire safety drill or event occur, the employee will be exposed to loud sirens and strobe lights.
Standards:Employees shall work to ensure that E&R Laundry and Dry Cleaners can provide excellence in service to its customers. Employees will not work under the influence of illegal mood altering drugs or alcohol. Employees must adhere to all E&R Laundry and Dry Cleaner’s company policies and procedures.

Pay: $18.50 - $20.75 per hour
