JOB PURPOSE:
The purpose of this job is to maintain various pieces of equipment throughout the plant and the facilities equipment supporting their normal operations. Executing maintenance breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance activities to improve equipment up time and minimize equipment failures during normal operations while at the same time ensuring high quality product is being produced on each line. This will include planned and unplanned maintenance activities and coordinating with Engineering, Operations and Quality departments to meet their needs from a maintenance perspective.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Trade school or Military technical school
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
5 years’ experience
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)
- 10+ years’ experience
- Industrial Electrician
- Journeyman or Master Electrician
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be safe – comply with all safety regulations.
- Partner with Engineering team to install, test and release equipment.
- Knowledge of recording activities in CMMS.
- Maintain equipment for industrial production breakdowns, preventative maintenance, and facilities maintenance activities.
- Various PLC’s experience.
- Networking and Communications: Ethernet / IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profinet, Profibus.
- AC drives, Motors, Encoder, and Resolver troubleshooting.
- Calibration and troubleshooting of flow, level, pressure, temperature and length measurement devices and loops.
- Familiar with bearings, pneumatic conveyance systems, gearboxes, equipment rebuilds and repairs.
- Familiar with automation and distributed control system architectures within manufacturing and processing systems.
- Familiar with hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and rotating equipment.
- Read and use blueprints schematics, manuals, technical drawings work orders, test results and machine error messages.
- Inspect parts for damage/ wear.
- Test and observe running machinery.
- Use hoists and lifts, hand tools, machining equipment and welding equipment and testing equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Allen Bradley: PLC 5, SLC 500, Studio 5000. Siemens: TIA Portal.
- MIG / TIG / Stick welding experience primarily steel.
- Advanced knowledge of lubrication properties in gearboxes and bearings.
- Ability to demonstrate use of a multimeter, oscilloscope, and megger.
- Skilled in troubleshooting network communication faults.
- Experience in drive replacement, programming and upgrading technology.
- Ability to troubleshoot 480 VAC, 240VAC, 120VAC, 25VAC, 24VDC, 10VDC and 5VDC circuits as well as analog device signals including 0-20mA and 4-20 mA signals.
- Basic machine shop equipment: milling machine, bandsaw, drill press etc.
- Knowledge of Pneumatic transfer systems vacuum pumps and air compressors.
