Job Title: Patient Services Team MemberHourly Rate - $14.00 - $18.00 based on Experience
General Summary of Duties:
Performs various clerical duties including: answering telephones, taking messages, scheduling appointments, copying, and creating/scanning/electronic filing of chart documents. Responsible for data entry, eligibility of insurance checking, confirmation of appointments and follow ups of no shows. Requirements:

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Skill in handling paperwork/filing adequately via electronic health record.

Answer and screens telephone calls in a courteous manner, and record messages in electronic health record for physician and other personnel.

Schedule patient appointments and procedures according to established policies and procedures.

Obtain accurate information from patients and ensure all registration forms are complete.

Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges on a daily basis.

Verify account balances and refunds for accuracy. Provide information to patients regarding unpaid balances.

File electronic records in appropriate sections of patient charts and keeps patient charts in proper order.

Maintain files and records in a confidential manner.

Maintain organization and efficiency of front office, including office supply inventory.

Maintain patient confidentiality.

Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience working in similar medical office environment as receptionist, front desk or patient representative.

Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type from draft copy and review and edit reports and correspondence.

Knowledge of electronic health record, electronic faxing and electronic (PHREESIA) demographic intake programs.

Equipment Operated: Office machinery including computers, electronic and manual fax, calculator, and photocopier. Occasionally lift and carry files up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment: Work performed in office environment. Involves frequent contact with staff and patients. May require working under stressful conditions. Pulmonary Associates has four clinical locations in the Las Vegas Valley and it is not uncommon for a staff member to rotate between clinics for coverage purposes.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity for office machine operation including computer and calculator; stooping, bending to handle files and supplies, mobility to complete errands or deliveries, or sitting for extended periods of time. Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.
