We are looking for an experienced Surgery Scheduler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office administration and scheduling, as well as excellent customer service skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating patient appointments, managing patient records, and ensuring that all paperwork is completed accurately and on time. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Schedules all inpatient and outpatient procedures/surgeries.
- Communicate with patients regarding their procedures and answer any questions they may have.
- Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed prior to the procedure.
- Responsible for obtaining precertification for all procedures/surgeries with the exception of those patients admitted through the ER.
- Schedules tests, office visits and necessary consults related to the procedure/surgery, both preoperatively and postoperatively.
- Responsible for appropriate utilization of physician's block time in the OR.
- Responsible for developing written communication to patients regarding the procedure/surgery and for communication with the patient in the event there are changes with the schedule or conflicts with insurance.
- Responsible for completing other duties as assigned by the Practice Administrator.
