Position: MUSIC MINISTER / AUXILIARY KEYBOARDIST MUSICIAN
Job Type: Part-time
1.) MUSIC MINISTER MUSICIAN (This position will more than likely be located at our main campus - Columbus, GA)
2.) AUXILIARY KEYBOARDIST MUSICIAN (We are expanding and adding a satellite campus in the Phenix City area. This position will more than likely be located in Alabama and the job description may differ slightly from the music minister's position.)

The Music Minister or Music Director reports to the Executive Director & Pastor. Must play keyboard/organ/piano and teach vocal parts. Creates an atmosphere of celebration and reverence to God through music for all worship services. Lead, direct, and teach the members of the Church music program in musical excellence. Foster an innovative, blended style of music to enhance and support the delivery of the Word of God, the Pastor’s vision and worship development of the congregation. Major duties are as follows:
· Provide inspiring and motivational music ministry plans for all worship services, programs and events
· Lead the congregation, utilizing a variety of styles of music, including coaching for new songs unfamiliar to the congregation.
· Spread vitality and engage the congregation through the musical worship experience;
· Plan, organize and lead the music ministry with the song lists, at least a week ahead of time, so that the singers and musicians can prepare before rehearsal.
· Rehearse weekly with the choir, Praise & Worship Team and musicians, including a “warm up” just prior to each Sunday morning service;
· Lead and direct the various components of the music programs including the
choir(s), vocal, instruments and other expressions of musical experience;
· Teach, coach and mentor all music ministry team members to become lifelong learners with respect to their musical talents as well as their spiritual
development;
· Promote fellowship within and help recruit new volunteers into the music ministry;
· Collaborate with Pastor and Executive Director to select all worship music
· Utilize technology in planning and presenting music to enhance the worship
message;
· Participate in regular planning meetings with the Pastor, Executive Director and the other Leadership Staff
· Maintain a music library and a database of hymns, praise music and anthems used in worship; (The actual filing, etc can be delegated to a volunteer.)
· Oversee, request and acquire the music, equipment and supplies required to perform designated duties
· Be a leader and example and in the various areas supporting the church, the Pastor and the vision, especially in the areas of “time”, “talent” and “treasure”.
· Other duties as assigned to accomplish the mission.
