Salary Range: $62,000 - $70,000 (negotiable)

Job Summary:
On October 30, 2023, the Family Medicine Research Summit was held at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square Hotel. The Summit culminated a multi-year process to create a research-focused strategic plan for Family Medicine in the United States. This joint effort by NAPCRG and the Association of Departments of Family Medicine (ADFM) involved over 140 visionaries, innovators, and leaders in Family Medicine. A National Family Medicine Strategic Plan for Research was finalized during the August 2023 Family Medicine Leadership Council (FMLC) Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This plan includes three strategic priorities: Pathways/Mentorship, Funding and Advocacy, and Infrastructure, with each having one goal and five objectives.
In May 2024, the ABFM Foundation awarded NAPCRG a five-year grant to hire a full-time Research Coordinator. The Research Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the fifteen objectives in the strategic plan, organize champions into working groups, ensure regular meetings, and establish work plans, outcomes, and metrics. Coordination with leaders of NAPCRG, ADFM, STFM, ABFM, AFMRD, and other Family Medicine organizations will be essential. The Research Coordinator will also synchronize activities with the Lead Champion for Implementation and establish an Oversight Committee comprising representatives from five key organizations.
Job Duties:
- Oversee the implementation of the National Family Medicine Strategic Plan for Research.
- Create and manage project timelines and track results.
- Identify key activities and performance indicators for each objective in year one.
- Organize champions of the fifteen objectives into working groups.
- Ensure regular meetings to establish work plans, outcomes, and metrics.
- Facilitate communication between leaders and members of respective associations.
- Work closely with the Lead Champion for Implementation, Dr. Irfan Asif.
- Establish and convene an Oversight Committee with representatives from key organizations.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with objective champions.
- Provide regular updates to the NAPCRG and ADFM Board of Directors.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports to the ABFM Foundation regarding the grant.
- Support the planning and implementation of a second Family Medicine Research Summit in 2026-2027.
- Write and summarize research projects and reports.
Education:
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s and master’s degrees in a health-related field, social work, or nonprofit leadership, with an interest in research.
Preferred Qualifications: Postdoctoral or terminal degree in primary care, family medicine, or a related discipline.
Screening Competencies:
Demonstrated experience and interest in Family Medicine, research, or related topics are preferred.
