Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Optometrist to join our team and provide exceptional eye care services to our patients. As an Optometrist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating various eye conditions, prescribing corrective lenses, and ensuring the overall eye health of our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and identify any potential issues.
- Diagnose and treat visual problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids as needed.
- Monitor and manage eye health conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Skills:
- Proficiency in conducting eye examinations and interpreting results.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to optometry.
- Experience in senior care and understanding the unique needs of elderly patients.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on empathy and communication.
- Familiarity with optical equipment and tools used in diagnosing eye conditions.
- Knowledge of medical coding procedures for accurate billing and insurance claims.
- Understanding of human anatomy and physiology as it relates to the eyes.
- Ability to work with electronic health record systems efficiently.
