VCI is currently seeking an onsite full-time Administrative Assistant at the new construction project site for the El Paso VA Health Care Center and Utility Plant on Fort Bliss. As a Construction Administrative Assistant, you will work closely with the project management team in assisting with monitoring the construction contractor's work effort for compliance with project contract requirements on a non-personal services basis.
The Construction Administrative Assistant will be required to perform the following:
- Provide clerical support and receptionist services.
- Assist the Staff on daily/weekly project tasks and various administrative duties such as compiling data
- Perform general office support functions including receiving calls, visitors, incoming mail, etc.
- Attend project meetings and keep meeting minutes and write ups for distribution to the Project Team.
- Receive, review, organize, transmit, file, or arrange delivery of a variety of records, correspondence, technical documentation, samples, packages.
- Enter and maintain program data in electronic databases, establishing and maintaining a variety of automated and manual records systems reflecting technical and administrative data.
- Must be able to execute assignments of a complex nature with guidance from members of the project team.
- Must have working knowledge of reporting tools and software for the purpose of presenting plans, concepts, strategies, and theories to clients in an efficient manner.
Education and Qualifications:
- A minimum of three (3) years of construction administrative assistance experience is required.
- The Construction Administrative Assistant shall have a degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and/or evidence work experience OR knowledge of construction administrative assistance to compensate for absence of higher education.
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
- The Construction Administrative Assistant will be required to have working knowledge of construction practices and assist in implementing the various plans set forth on the project including Quality Assurance; Safety, Time, Cost, Change and Information Management.
- Must be familiar with site operations of a General and Sub-contractor and the process of managing a building construction operation.
- The Construction administrative Assistant is required to have effective communication, language, and software skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products and compile data and records.
- Must possess skills in Microsoft Office software and the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel files and able to create and edit .pdf files with Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Salary: $40K-$60K per year
