We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Foreman to act as the second-in-command, assisting our Yard Manager in overseeing our scaffolding operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence through effective management of documentation, logistics, inventory, and quality control. This role requires a deep understanding of scaffolding, a knack for numbers, and exceptional people management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation Management: Oversee and ensure all operational documentation is accurate and up to date. This includes safety records, project plans, and client contracts.
- Scaffolding Expertise: Apply extensive scaffolding experience to supervise the setup, adjustment, and dismantling of scaffolding structures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project requirements.
- People Management: Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of scaffolding professionals. Ensure efficient task allocation, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive work environment.
- Logistics and Distribution: Coordinate logistics and distribution activities within the scaffolding yard, ensuring timely delivery and setup of scaffolding materials.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain high-quality standards for all scaffolding operations. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality guidelines.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory checks, manage scaffolding material stock levels, and ensure the availability of necessary equipment for all projects.
- Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with the Yard Manager to optimize operational processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a General Foreman or in a similar leadership role within the scaffolding or construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of scaffolding setup, safety standards, and regulations.
- Experience in a distribution center or logistics role, with a strong understanding of inventory management and distribution processes.
- Excellent numerical skills and the ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing and motivating teams.
- Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications in scaffolding, construction management, or safety are highly desirable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 per week
