Job Summary
The King's Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as a High School Mathematics Teacher and Head of the Mathematics Department. This role involves teaching mathematics grade levels (9th - 12th), leading the mathematics department (6th - 12th), and ensuring that the curriculum aligns with the school's Christian values and educational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching Duties:
Instruction and Curriculum Delivery
- Develop engaging lesson plans catering to various learning styles and abilities.
- Teach mathematics courses at the high school level, including, but not limited to, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, pre-calculus, and Calculus.
- Integrate Christian values and perspectives into the mathematics curriculum.
- Assess and evaluate student performance and progress, providing timely feedback and support.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a positive and conducive learning environment.
- Enforce school policies and procedures consistently and fairly.
- Address student behavior and academic issues promptly and effectively.
Student Engagement
- Foster a love for mathematics and encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Provide additional support and tutoring for students who need extra help.
- Organize and participate in extracurricular activities, such as math clubs or competitions.
Leadership and Management
- Lead and mentor the mathematics department staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Conduct regular department meetings to discuss curriculum development, teaching strategies, and departmental goals.
- Coordinate with other department heads and school administration to ensure a cohesive academic program.
Curriculum Development
- Oversee the development and revision of the mathematics curriculum to ensure it meets state standards and integrates Christian teachings.
- Implement new teaching methodologies and technologies to enhance student learning.
Communication
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents, staff, and administration.
- Report to the school principal and participate in administrative meetings as required.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years teaching mathematics at the middle or high school level; prior experience in a leadership role preferred.
- Christian Faith: Active member of a Christian church and has the ability to integrate faith into teaching.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms.
