The Role:
The Educator is responsible for working in an infant through pre-K classroom to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that the classroom has set forth and designed to meet the needs of children and their families based upon the mission and philosophy of Shady Lane School. Shady Lane Educators focus on social emotional learning, they regularly discuss teaching practice with peers and experts in the field, they play with children, and they focus on leading child center classrooms. Shady Lane Educators are passionate about early childhood education!
Shady Lane School is DHS licensed, NAEYC accredited, and PA Keystone Stars 4A rated.
Core responsibilities will include:
- Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum as outlined by the classroom
- Work collaboratively with peers and administration to enhance teaching practices
- Emphasize social-emotional learning in the classroom environment
- Engage in regular play-based interactions with children
- Maintain child-centered classrooms
- Adhere to all regulations set forth by partners at DHS, Keystone STARS and NAEYC
- Maintain 24 professional development hours annually
Minimum Qualifications include:
- Associates' Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education OR non-related BA degree with 30 related credits and 1-year experience working with children.
- Experience working in an infant or toddler setting preferred.
- Must be able to obtain a physical & TB test prior to your first day of employment
- Must be able to obtain the required Act 33, Act 34, and FBI clearances
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $33,000.00 - $38,000.00 per year
