The department is recruiting Lead Medical Laboratory Scientists in the department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Services.
We are looking for a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will be working as a laboratory generalist responsible for performing laboratory tests in the areas of chemistry, coagulation, hematology, immunology and other disciplines. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist must be able to interpret results, accurately document findings, and maintain a high level of accuracy and quality control. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about laboratory work and has a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests on specimens from patients.
- Perform quality control tests and document results.
- Analyze test results and make recommendations for further testing or treatment.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory tests and results.
- Perform hematology tests, such as complete blood counts and differential white blood cell counts.
- Perform pathology tests, such as tissue cultures and microscopic analysis of cells.
- Operate laboratory equipment, such as microscopes, centrifuges, and automated analyzers.
Work Schedule: Monday Thru Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Applicants pending the completion of educational, or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
Basic Requirements:
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist / Clinical Laboratory Scientist must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, chapter 2, section D, paragraph 5a.You must have a current and active certification as either an MT, MLS, or CLS given by the ASCP-BOC, ASCP-BOR, or AMT.

Pay: $100,097.00 - $130,125.00 per year
