Personal Care Associates Inc., - We are looking to hire multiple LPN's, who has experience working with children to join our team of nurses.
We have 3 locations that are in need of LPN's for Monday - Friday school hours.
Locations include :
Burlington, MA
Belmont, MA
Worcester, MA
Responsibilities Include:
- Follow individual protocols and procedures for identified special education students requiring medical or health interventions including emergency guidelines.
- Assess students’ health conditions for any changes in their health status and to determine if identified health needs are being appropriately met.
- Administer necessary nursing procedures based on students’ needs and doctor’s orders.
- Responsible for student supplies and daily medications.
- Maintain up-to-date cumulative health records, nurses’ notes, medication orders, individual health care plans and emergency plans on all assigned students.
- Report to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on school medical matters.
- Provide non-nursing personnel medically necessary training as it is warranted (i.e., seizure management, EpiPen)
- Provide supervision of the classrooms during times in which the special educator is required to be elsewhere in the building.
- Attend planning meetings, in-service workshops/trainings, team meetings, and parent-teacher conferences, when requested by direct supervisor and/or the Program Administrator.
- Consult with the classroom teacher and therapists around designated students, on a regular basis, to discuss student progress and to support and carry over classroom and therapy goals and strategies per IEP goals.
- Maintain and use adaptive equipment and materials.
- Supervise students with disabilities outside of regular class times, including, but not limited to, the transition from and to transportation and school, lunch, recess, field trips, assemblies, emergency drills, and hallway passing.
- Assume assigned duties in another classroom if requested by the Program Administrator.
- Maintain the high level of confidentiality and professionalism expected of the teaching staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Administrator and/or Executive Director.
Requirements:
- Requires a High School Diploma OR equivalent.
- Must be certified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Certification Requires- To be up to date and be in good standing in MA .
- At least 1+ year experience / Clinical: 2+ years (Preferred)
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- CPR Certified (or ability to obtain this certification)
- Fully Vaccinated, with Booster shot and can provide a Covid-19 Vaccination Card.
- Needs to be able to lift at least 50 pounds
