Generator Field Technician
Description:
We are looking for a reliable and skilled Generator Field Service Technician in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to play a critical role in the service, repair, and maintenance of all makes/models of commercial and industrial generators.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance service on customer generators
- Repair and service most major makes and models of generator sets – Diesel, Propane and Natural Gas
- Inspect, repair, service and start-up Load Bank test requirements on equipment
- Repair and troubleshoot engines such as PSI, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, MTU and Volvo
- Troubleshoot switchgear and automatic transfer switches
- Provide on call services as required
- Deliver exceptional customer service
- May be required to perform administrative office duties
Requirements:
- 3+ years of commercial/industrial experience working on generators, ATS and switchgear
- OEM training & certification and/or EGSA certification preferred
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background check, drug test and MVR clearance
- Strong written and verbal English skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Outlook email/calendars
Physical Demands:
Tasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work. Physical Activity: 85% physical activity required on customer site working with equipment, 15% form completion, email, other administrative tasks and completing technical support activities by way of telephone and computer communication.
- May involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-75 pounds).
- Frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit.
- Combination of climbing and balancing to include climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to protective glasses, protective gloves, and protective footwear as required.
- Ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals.
- May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
