The purpose of the receiving clerk is to ensure that all outbound freight shipments are prepared via the most efficient mode of transport, packaged, and labeled correctly. Data is entered accurately into inventory control system and bills of lading are properly prepared to reflect all items shipped.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Use a broad range of tools to perform function (banding, packaging, warehouse computer system, UPS, FedEx Express shipment systems)
· Reads pick list or shipping orders to determine quantity and type of box or crate required to ship parts
· Must be able to operate forklifts or hand truck safely to move or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform or area to storage or work area, and to load equipment.
· Load and unload trucks; unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject, or notate damaged items, record shortages.
· Perform receipt transactions in computer for inbound parts.
· Keep shipping / receiving area clean and free of safety and health hazards
· Examine outgoing shipments including documents for accuracy.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Great organization skills
· Ability to work independently and stay on task and follow through
· Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
· Great computer skills
· Experience in inventory and document control
· Operate forklifts safely and be able to properly label and pack shipments
· Excellent communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
