At-a-Glance:
Are you ready to build your career by joining a fast-growing global organization? If so, our client is hiring an Electrical Sub-Assembler! This small but effective team will be completing a project scheduled through summer 2025 to modernize and overhaul the electrical components of a group of passenger trains. 80% of the work will be performed within the light rail car in a temperature-controlled facility (Valley Metro Maintenance and Operations Center) and 20% will be outside in open air.
What You'll Do:
Perform a wide variety of routine installation functions in one or more of the following areas:
- Electronic or electro-mechanical operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies in an “Out Shop” environment (think construction site, not assembly line.)
- Set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits using multi-meters and other electrical test tools, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
- Installation equipment operation (could involve running wires, building harnesses, using power tools, crimping wires, etc.)
- Performs incoming, raw material and final mfg. inspection and/or audits of quality control programs.
- Assist with routine repair and retest products. May assist with rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.
- Assist in resolving routine manufacturing related problems affecting daily operations.
What You Bring:
- Prior experience with electrical assembly involving large equipment (such as trucks, trains, aircraft, etc.)
- Ability to pass skills test on basic use of wire crimping and electrical tools.
- Understanding of manufacturing safety (complying with PPE requirements such as steel toe boots.)
- Strong desire to be part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs and climb a ladder onto the top of a passenger train car, and bend and carry large materials through narrow spaces.
