We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Youth Career Counselor I within the DuPage County Workforce Development Division. The workNet DuPage Career Center is funded through the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and provides an extensive range of services to both job seekers and employers. Job seeker services include grants for job training programs, job search workshops, career counseling, a job search resource center, and more. This is a grant funded position.DuPage County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Responsibilities Include: Conducts interviews with youth participants age 18-24 related to eligibility, barriers to employment, individual job search goals and development of individual service strategyDevelops individual goals with the participant related to employment, training, internships, job readiness and job search skillsLinks participants to other partner agencies and colleagues as appropriate and works collectively toward self-sufficient employment for all individualsConducts on-going case management specific to the needs of each participantPrepares, tracks and maintains participant information in department database from the program entry to program exit and follow upProvides resource information regarding social services to participants and acts as an advocate when needed
