Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive power system analyses (load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, protective device coordination).

Leverage your advanced knowledge and troubleshooting skills to optimize the performance and reliability of power systems up to 120kV. Diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues efficiently.

Lead maintenance and reliability initiatives for electrical equipment (switchgear, transformers, generators) and control systems, implementing proactive maintenance strategies.

Be the technical point of contact for internal stakeholders and utility companies, handling power system requirements, performance assessments, audits, and troubleshooting.

Manage engineering design consultants, providing technical guidance and review throughout the design process for capital projects.

Oversee construction and commissioning of electrical capital projects, ensuring adherence to specifications, safety standards, and regulations.

Champion a culture of safety and environmental stewardship by enforcing protocols, regulations, and industry standards.

Ensure all power system initiatives align with Nevada Gold Mines' core values: efficiency, sustainability, and operational excellence.

Coordinate and manage external contractors and consultants, ensuring adherence to project scope, deliverables, timelines, budget, and quality.

Identify opportunities to optimize processes, reduce costs, and improve power system efficiency by implementing best practices and innovative solutions.

Lead power system projects from start to finish, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
Education: A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required, and a Master's degree is a plus.-
Licenses & Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.

Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in power systems engineering, preferably in an industrial or utility setting.

Software Proficiency:

Power system analysis software (ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or equivalent) is preferred.

MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.

AutoCAD Electrical is preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, NESC, IEEE, NETA) required.-
Project Management: Experience managing external contractors and consultants. Familiarity with SAP (ERP) software for project management a plus
