Job Description:
As a Dining Room Host/Hostess at Sea Island, your primary responsibility is to promptly escort guests to their assigned tables upon entering the dining room, embodying the legacy of warm genuine hospitality. Preferred candidates will have previous food and beverage experience in a luxury hotel, resort, or fine dining restaurant, and an understanding of Forbes 5-Star dining standards. A positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment are key attributes for success in this role.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
In addition to escorting guests and answering reservations calls, you will assist service staff with routine duties, maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas, and uphold departmental standards of quality and timing. Recognizing regular guests and staying informed about Sea Island's offerings are crucial aspects of this role. Upholding compliance with company policies and procedures, reporting equipment problems promptly, and attending scheduled meetings contribute to the overall excellence of our dining experience. Be ready to execute other duties as delegated by leadership in a willing and timely manner, contributing to the continuous improvement of our service standards.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periods
- If applicable, must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levels
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy
- Ability to lift, carry, pull and push up to 30 lbs intermittently throughout a shift
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
- May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazards
- Ability to maintain compliance with Sea Island’s Company Resort Professional Image Policy
