We are looking to hire a part-time (20 hours per week) house manager / personal assistant for our family of four.
We are two busy entrepreneurs aiming to spend more valuable time with our family by outsourcing some of our recurring daily tasks, particularly those related to daily household tasks, transportation of children to and from events, meal preparation and the management of our fresh produce.
The successful candidate will be energetic, organized, cheerful, and adaptable. We'll be sharing a lot of time together, so the right personality is crucial - we want you to enjoy being in our home.
Self-reliance, a can-do attitude, and the ability to get tasks done without constant supervision are critical as we don't wish to micro-manage. Ideally, you are available to work in and around our home from 2pm - 6pm Monday through Friday, with Saturdays and Sundays off.
We hope to find someone proactive, who can anticipate needs, clearly communicate relevant details, and expertly manage our calendars and schedules according to the priorities detailed below.
Duties include:
Daily Meal Preparation:
- Responsible for daily dinner preparation and weekly breakfast and lunch arrangements, tailored to specific dietary requirements.
- Focus on processing fresh produce, including tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and storing vegetables to maximize use and reduce waste.
- Require proficiency in food storage and vegetable processing techniques.
House Administration:
- Light daily house tasks such as dishes, laundry, cleaning (vacuuming, picking up, taking out trash and recycling, dusting, etc.) will be part of your responsibilities.
- You will contribute to the organization and optimization of our household. This will involve ongoing tasks and occasional projects to maintain our home's comfort and orderliness (scheduling cleanings, coordinating indoor/outdoor maintenance).
Life Administration:
- Children - We have two wonderful kids (ages 7 and 4). As active parents, we cherish our time with them and aim to maximize it. You will likely be asked to transport them to or from weekly activities. To be successful in the role, we would expect your comfortability in spending time with our children while we complete an errand or take our daily run.
- Errands - You will be responsible for daily/weekly grocery shopping, trips to the post office, car washes, etc.
- Communication management - This includes sorting our mail, paying bills, setting up appointments, and managing inbound and outbound communications (scheduling appointments, pickups, deliveries, etc.).
Must have:
- Your own vehicle (we will compensate for gas when used for errands).
- Your own technology (smartphone, laptop), familiarity with Google calendar, and a reminder/alarm system for task tracking and calendar management.
- A cheerful, positive attitude, and the desire to be helpful and proactive.
