MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN
This is a remote position. Applicants will need a private, quiet space at home from which to provide confidential advocacy services to program participants and check-ins with New Beginnings Staff. Applicants must hold an active and valid WA state clinical license with no sanction or disciplinary action by Department of Health.

SUMMARY: The Mental Health Clinician works in a dynamic multidisciplinary team providing treatment services according to the MIDD Contract. Clinician responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, providing milieu interventions, leading psychoeducational and process-oriented therapy session, facilitate clinical assessments, conduct individual therapy sessions, outreach coordination, prioritizing referrals, and other case management tasks as assigned.
REPORTS TO: Clinical Supervisor
HOURS: 36 hours per week/4-day work week; Mon-Thurs or Tues-Fri, 8AM-5PM with variations of 9-hour day due to business need. This is a salaried, exempt position.
COMPENSATION: $40.00-$44.00/hour; 85% paid medical, dental and vision benefits 100% paid Optum EAP (Employee Assistance Program) and life insurance, professional development allowance, 29 days of paid leave annually, 11 paid holidays.
WORK DUTIES/ROLE:
- Provide time-limited, culturally sensitive individual therapy to up to 24 clients, and periodically facilitate groups for a designated small number of program participants.
- Participate in supervision as needed and in accordance with licensure regulations.
- May provide training regarding the impact of domestic violence and trauma-informed services for volunteers and the community.
- Create and foster relationships with community-based agencies as appropriate.
- Maintain all records as required by agency policy and HIPAA standards, and ensure the accurate and timely
submission of required reports.
- Participate in clinical consultation, staff meetings, and agency trainings.
Essential Job Functions
· Ensures clinical documentation is complete and timely throughout the course of treatment with 72 hours of service provided.
· Establish therapeutic rapport with clients in MIDD programming.
· Facilitates admission assessments and the admission process for new patients with professionalism, courtesy, and a welcoming attitude.
· Participates in weekly team meetings and communicates weekly treatment goals with all team members.
· Completes appropriate number of therapy sessions weekly for patients.
· Completes discharge session with patients to ensure coping skills, transition plan, and resources are understood.
· Communicates with referral sources for continuity of care upon admission, midpoint, and discharge.
Data Entry
· Enters consistently complete, accurate and appropriate service data into the agency database.
· Responds to meet data needs identified by the Clinical Supervisor or data staff.
Community Networking
· Maintains extensive knowledge of community resources for the benefit of survivors.
· Partake in MIDD Cohort and community meetings per contractual obligations.
· Maintains positive working relationships with other domestic violence and service agencies in the community.
Resource Development
· Provides program information and stories as needed by the development team to build donor support and pursue funding opportunities.
Team-Work and Professional Development
· Actively contributes to a positive team environment to ensure the collaboration needed for provision of high- quality services to survivors.
· Participates in all staff meetings, team meetings, agency retreats, and other activities as required.
Other
· Assists with administrative or other tasks as requested by the Clinical Supervisor, exhibiting flexibility and responsiveness to unanticipated needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Commitment to the mission of New Beginnings and to the needs of domestic violence survivors.
· Willingness to learn about and promote equity and social justice within and outside of New Beginnings.
· Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence and the impact of trauma on survivors and their children. Experience with domestic violence and survivor-centered advocacy. Related experience in non-domestic violence agency settings will be considered.
· Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse survivors in a welcoming, supportive, culturally responsive manner.
· English fluency is required; fluency in one or more of these additional languages is preferred: Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Russian, Ukrainian, Amharic, Somali, Tigrinya, Punjabi, Hindi, or other African, Asian, and Middle Eastern languages.
· Knowledge of a wide range of community resources to meet variable survivor needs.
· Demonstrated ability to address detail and ensure follow through.
· Demonstrated ability to be flexible, handle crises and juggle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to maintain participant confidentiality.
· Ability to represent New Beginnings in a professional manner to community partners and the broader public.
· Ability to use supervision effectively to gain support and enhance performance.
· Ability to engage in constructive self-care activities to manage secondary trauma.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
· Required licensure: LMFT (A)/LMHC (A)/LICSW (A) or equivalent.
