The City of Crestwood Parks Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Parks Maintenance Worker I. Performs labor required in order to maintain 120 acres of park property and the City’s 50 miles of streets. Operates various trucks, light, and heavy equipment. Performs semi-skilled work that will involve strenuous physical exertion, including forestry, horticulture, landscaping, asphalt patching, concrete work, grading, retaining walls, painting, carpentry, storm drainage, and trash removal from City properties. Employee is on call during winter months to remove snow and ice from City streets, parks, sidewalks, and steps. Frequent lifting and moving of light and heavy objects is required. Work includes non-routine, weekend, and emergency hours. The qualified applicant will have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of landscape/forestry, equipment/truck operations, snow removal procedures, construction, etc., is preferred. Must possess or be able to obtain a Class “B” CDL within 3 months of employment. Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.
