Provide exceptional, knowledgeable, efficient service to guests and local customers as to make their Fable & Spirit experience memorable and personal. The Host is responsible for answering the phone and greeting guests at the door at entry and exit. Stay current with all reservations and the ability to recognize regulars and VIPs. Update and monitor the restaurant’s table turn time, seating status and wait list in the dining room. The host will guide restaurant guests to their tables with menus, assist with take-out orders, help reset tables and any further assistance in the restaurant. Ensure guest loyalty at all times.
THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY LEVEL POSITION
ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS:
- A minimum of two years experience in a Hostess position in a table service restaurant with responsibility of handling reservation, greeting and seating down guests. Leadership experience is a plus.
- Prior experience working with reservations system such as OpenTable and/or Resy system.
- Basic knowledge of restaurant service and operation.
- The ability to courteously replace and remove plates, utensils and glasses without disturbing guests.
- Ability to provide courteous and professional customer service
- Be able to understand and communicate in English. Be able to read and write in English..
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours a day).
- Effective oral communication skills and the ability to work as a team player.
- Must be impeccably groomed, maintain good hygiene, good posture and have required uniform.
