Job Requirements:
- Hold a valid food handler’s license
- Ability to work in relative harmony with a pleasant demeanor toward co-workers and guests
- Physical capability of executing job position duties and tasks as well as any reasonable task requested of you by your supervisors and managers
- Ability to work extended hours walking and standing
- Must work well in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Must have the ability to carry trays/pans weighing up to approx. 30 lbs.
Job Position Duties:
- Ensure equipment is clean and ready for the shift.
- Ensure there are sufficient prepared items to run a smooth shift.
- Ensure all items that are time-temperature controlled are correctly logged EACH TIME they go to the salad/hot bar.
- Utilize gloves in the kitchen and follow composting, recycling, and waste programs of the restaurant.
- Be prepared for a health department inspection at all times.
- Follow knife and equipment safety. Be aware of sharp tools and hot equipment/items and use common sense to identify and resolve any safety hazards in the kitchen.
- Maintain and utilize inventory rotation in coolers and dry goods storage.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean area around the salad bar and kitchen area when needed.
- Assist in inventory rotation of salad items. Assist in monitoring item labels and expiration dates.
- If helping to prepare or refresh any salad items, side dishes, desserts, ensure you are adhering to the recipes.
- Assist in preparing for the next day’s shifts, perform closing duties, cleaning, and advising management of any maintenance needs.
- Assist your teammates when available and perform any reasonable job or task request from the management.
- Perform duties in a prompt and efficient manner with a smile and positive attitude.
SAFETY:
- Be aware and correct any object, condition, spill, or substance that might cause harm to co-workers or customers.
- Practice proper lifting (from the legs) and ask for assistance when lifting or moving heavy objects.
- Use common sense and a proactive approach to identify and resolve any potential safety hazards.
NOTE: This restaurant operates seven days a week. Because of the nature of the restaurant industry, employees may be asked to work different hours, holiday schedules, or to perform special duties based on the customer demand – flexibility is required.
