Skilled Maintenance Technician/Carpenter
We are hiring a skilled Maintenance Technician/Carpenter to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in maintenance, be skilled with various hand and power tools, be able to read blueprints and repair manuals, have a good working knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials, the ability to work with little supervision, and be customer service oriented. You will be addressing maintenance issues reported by owners and board members and performing routine grounds and building maintenance at multiple properties.
Skilled Maintenance Technician/Carpenter Requirements:
- Communicate effectively with owners, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
- Take accurate measurements and calculations.
- Provide accurate estimates.
- Build window frames, doors, decks and various projects.
- Install cabinets, shelves and other items.
- Coordinate with outside contractors when needed.
- Inspect buildings and grounds and provide relative maintenance.
- Build scaffolding and other construction structures.
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Handle basic repairs and maintenance.
- Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them.
- Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
Maintenance Worker Responsibilities:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Proven maintenance and carpentry experience
- Eye for detail
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, hoists, rulers etc.)
- Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices
- Strong organizational and follow up skills
- Professional presentation and attitude
- Good physical condition and endurance
- Ability to maintain focus while working individually
- Strong time management skills
