Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring and trimming models
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records
- Utilize Dentrix software for appointment scheduling and record keeping
- Follow aseptic techniques to ensure infection control protocols are followed
- Assist with CAD/CAM procedures and digital impressions
- Provide assistance with medical coding and billing systems, such as Epic
- Specialize in assisting with pediatric dental procedures
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience
- State-specific dental assistant certification or licensure, if applicable
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
- Proficiency in using Dentrix software for appointment scheduling and record keeping
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM technology and digital impressions
- Understanding of medical coding systems, such as Epic, for billing purposes
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
