Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists the Head Coach in coordinating and supervising all practices, competitions, and other team events

Knows and follows the rules of the Florida High School Athletic Association and guides the program within the mission, philosophy, and goals of Melbourne Central Catholic High School

Assists the Head Coach with equipment including uniforms (inventory and storage)

Communicates appropriately and respectfully with parents, teachers, and school stakeholders, and escalates issues as necessary in collaboration with the Head Coach and Athletic Director

Communicates in a timely manner with the Head Coach and Athletic Director regarding student athlete eligibility and works collaboratively to assure only eligible student athletes participate in team events

Assists the Head Coach in maintaining a record of all team participants, contest records, and award winners

Assists the Head Coach in supervising the proper and respectful use and storage of team equipment, and collaborates with the Head Coach and Athletic Director about any equipment needs and/or concerns

Collaborates with the Head Coach and Athletic Director to handle any issues regarding coaches, players, families, or the athletic program

Assists the Head Coach with the Junior Varsity division of the program
Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Athletic Director
Requirements:
Education / Experience / Skills

Compliance with Diocesan FBI fingerprint clearance and compliance with Safe Environment training and test requirements

Extensive knowledge of the sport at the competition level

At least two years of coordinator experience strongly preferred

Demonstrates leadership skills and the management of large groups of students/athletes

Demonstrates knowledge of the fundamental skills and techniques, as well as the advanced techniques in the sport

Demonstrates successful ability to teach, implement, advance, and model appropriate behavior, character traits, educational values, and school and Diocesan core values to student athletes

Demonstrates successful ability to teach, organize, and supervise student athletes
-
Demonstrates successful management and organizational skills

Demonstrates successful ability to work with parent groups, administrators, staff, and students

Ability to organize multiple athletic events

Ability to communicate effectively, appropriately, and professionally in writing, speech, and other forms of communication
The position often involves coordinating, training, supervising, or managing the activities of others to accomplish goals and requires advanced communication and organizational skills, attention to detail and working well with others. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, co-workers, and supervisors, via face-to-face discussions, telephone communications, and electronic mail is essential.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds. Physical demands include balancing, carrying, crouching, feeling, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, stooping, talking, and walking.
