Position Summary:
At CardWorks, we are seeking a highly driven and effective professional to join the quality engineering team. As a Quality Engineer I, you will leverage your expertise, experience, and passion to ensure we uphold the highest levels of quality and excellence for our clients.
Essential Functions:
- Technical– deep experience integrating a strong software development background with a passion for the discipline of Quality Engineering.
- Write and execute Test Case to ensure development outputs meet defined specification cases in coordination with Business requirements, Technical Specifications, installer/upgrade documents, and management
- Perform regression and exploratory testing per the Release process
- Document software defects using JIRA bug tracking system
- Be able to use Test Case Management tools such as Zephyr
- Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
- Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
- Produce test estimates for testing activities
- Participate in test case reviews and ensure requirements traceability, proper coverage
- Perform Exploratory, Functional, Integration, UI, back-end testing, White box/Black box testing. Demonstrate the capacity to investigate and debug complex issues.
- Review, validate, and document the setting controls for card programs using platforms like Zeta or Fiserv
- Methodology –deep expertise and knowledge in Quality Engineering standards, processes, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrate and evangelize a passion for process and methodology through daily actions
- Adhere to and support all established and documented methodology/best practices in alignment with the Release methodologies and processes
- Adhere to and support group processes, procedures, and standards to drive and guide a repeatable, reliable delivery of high-quality software products and services
- Display a basic understanding of testing methodology and product knowledge in the design of tests
- Team Support/Leadership– deep commitment to working in and fostering a highly collaborative, innovative, and high performing product team.
- Advise, assist, and mentor QE (Quality Engineering) team members with distributed testing responsibilities

- Assess solution risk and assist the project team in prioritizing testing efforts
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's in computer science (or relevant degree) with 1 year of experience
- 1-2 years of experience in software testing
- Preferred Experience using:
- Credit card processing and payment processing platforms

- Skills/Competencies
- Knowledgeable in testing methodology, design, execution and attaining product knowledge
- Experience with QA techniques including black box, white box, and gray box approaches for smoke, regression, functional, user acceptance and exploratory testing.
- Experience with the development of use cases, test scenarios and/or test plans
- Investigating and debugging complex issues
- Have a solid understanding of basic SQL
- Experience using JIRA or other bug tracking tools.
- Experience using Test Case Management tools such as Zephyr
- Experience with the development of use cases, test scenarios and/or test plans
- Experience with Agile
- Delivery input within Agile methodology projects (e.g., Scrum)
- Proficiency using standard test management tools (Azure DevOps)
- Demonstrate basic understanding with any of the following GUI / Web Automation Testing Tool (Ranorex, QTP, and Selenium)
- Demonstrate basic understanding with any of the following scripting languages: (C#, VB.Net, Java, HTML, XML, and T-SQL)
