Job Summary:
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and executing high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards. Working closely with the culinary team, this position ensures the timely and consistent production of food items for a variety of menus, including à la carte dining, banquets, and special events.
Job Tasks/Duties:
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and specifications, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
- Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment.
- Coordinate with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to plan and prioritize daily tasks and production schedules.
- Monitor food levels and replenish supplies as needed to maintain efficient workflow.
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures, including temperature monitoring, storage, and labeling.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including equipment, storage areas, and refrigeration units.
- Assist with the receiving and storage of food deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and inventory management.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations, including proper use of kitchen equipment and handling of hazardous materials.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations during service hours.
- Participate in menu development and recipe testing as directed by the culinary leadership team.
- Support special events and banquet functions by preparing and plating dishes according to event specifications.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure accurate and timely food service.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required by management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Sous Chef or Head Chef.
