Current open positions:
Resident Advisor - Part-Time Positions (2)
- 7 am until 3pm, every other Saturday and Sunday
- 11 pm until 7am, every other Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
- Benefits: holiday pay, employee assistance program
Position Purpose: The Resident Advisor provides support, teaches life skills, and encourages and models healthy behaviors. They are present for coaching and support during the day-to-day celebrations and struggles that our residents experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports and assists residents of A Mother’s Hope with basic needs, and ensures safety, security, and adherence to program guidelines.
- Maintains accurate and complete documentation of resident activities and communicates any situations requiring additional action to the case manager.
- Ensures program rules are followed to provide a positive environment for all residents.
- Reflects personal integrity in attitude and behavior towards residents, volunteers, visitors, and fellow staff.
- Completes rounds on the premises and ensures proper signing in and out of residents.
- Models, supports, and assists residents in baby care and parenting.
- Responds to emergency situations and refers to the appropriate resources internally and externally.
Other Duties:
- Attends quarterly All Staff meetings.
- Attends monthly Program Staff meetings.
- Job performance should demonstrate A Mother's Hope Core Values.
- Be prepared to offer spiritual support to others.
- Assume additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education Training and Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent experience
- 1 year of experience in related field preferred
- Valid Driver's License
- CPR Certification (preferred)
Skills and Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of baby care and parenting skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow through until completion
- Ability to work under pressure, handle stressful situations, and maintain flexibility
- Good observation skills of the environment and the people in it
- Self-motivated
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work with individuals from various socioeconomic, ethnic, and racial populations
- Ability to comply with personal and business requirements and expectations as detailed in A Mother's Hope Policies and Procedures
Physical Demands: While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The individual may also be required to lift up to 30 pounds infrequently; and should be able to walk and climb stairs in order to be able to physically navigate A Mother’s Hope.
